I have an artist at home. She loves coloring, drawing, painting. Creating something new almost every single day. It’s her favorite thing to do, even right before bedtime. Which also means… I had a massive collection of papers all over the house. Every surface was becoming a creative station.

So I knew she needed a dedicated space.

That is exactly what happened with our IKEA PAX wardrobe.

What started as a simple storage solution became one of my favorite transformations in our bedroom. And the best part? We didn’t need a fully custom millwork budget to get there. Let me tell you how we did it.

I wasn’t planning on changing our bedroom color, to be honest. I started working on this space earlier last year, almost at the same time I was designing my room in NYC. The two months before that I was fully immersed in bedroom inspiration, gathering ideas, saving images, thinking about layouts and palettes… and naturally, the itch to finally do something about our bedroom sparked.
