3 Easy Fall Door Decorating Ideas to Try This Season

Your door is one of the easiest places to add a little fall charm to your home, and you don’t have to stick to the same wreath-and-pumpkin combination every year. From a simple hanging basket filled with faux foliage to a more layered look with garlands, wreaths, and pumpkins, there are plenty of ways to decorate your door for fall.
Here are three easy fall door decorating ideas to inspire your own seasonal look, whether you prefer something simple, traditional, or a little more layered.
1. A Simple Fall Door
I love decorating my back door, and this is one of my favorite ways to do it. Instead of a traditional wreath, I used a simple woven basket filled with faux fall foliage. It’s easy, unexpected, and adds just enough color for the season. And the best part is that you can keep the basket and just change the branches for flowers as the seasons change.

2. A Classic Fall Wreath
This was last year’s Halloween porch, and I kept the door pretty simple with a wreath and a mix of pumpkins in different colors and patterns. At the last minute, I felt like it needed a little something extra, so I secured a real branch I found to the column and added some brown faux leaves. Totally optional, but I love how it turned out (and it was so easy to do!)

3. Layered Fall Door Decor
Even though I said I wasn’t going to overdo it this year, I think I did some of my best work haha! I love how this garland came together, and again, it was surprisingly easy to make. I used a faux vine from Amazon as the base and attached different types of faux foliage to create a mix of colors, textures, and shapes. Then I added the wreath and pumpkins to finish it off.
