There is something about the “ber” months that makes me want to cozy up with a candle, grab a blanket and make my place an extra special inviting place. As the days get shorter and the evenings cooler it is all about creating a warm and welcoming environment. Here are some of the ways I light up my place so that it feels extra special and cozy for these months.
1. Candles to Set the Mood
Candles are a must for that warm, cozy glow, but the right fragrance makes all the difference, too. And no, it doesn't have to be the classic pumpkin spice! Think vanilla, amber, sandalwood, or cinnamon for a scent that makes your home feel as inviting as it smells.

My absolute favorite thing to do during the cold, chilly months is to wrap myself in a nice, warm, and fuzzy blanket. Keep a couple of blankets on your couch or at the foot of your bed for those chilly mornings and slow evenings at home. Bonus points if it's weighted for that extra snuggly, comforting feeling.

Sometimes, creating the perfect ambiance comes down to something as simple as changing your light bulbs. Look for warm, soft lighting and choose the right brightness for each space. Around 450 lumens is great for a dimmer, ambient glow, while 560 lumens offers medium brightness. Save brighter bulbs (800 lumens and up) for spaces where you need more light, and let those warm tones do their thing!
Extra-warm, dimmable ambient lighting (2200K, 210 lumens)
Warm, candle-like dimmable glow (2200K, 560 Lumens)
Soft, dimmable lighting (2700K, 450 lumens)
Medium-bright lighting (3000K, 760 lumens)
Brighter, dimmable warm lighting (2700K, 800 lumens)
Brighter, non-dimmable warm lighting (2700K, 800 lumens)
Bright, soft-white lighting (3000K, 800 lumens)
