As my boys have grown, the space has naturally evolved too, so it was time to refresh the room to better fit their style. And of course, like most pre-teens and teens, they wanted LED lights in their bedroom. But it wouldn’t be me if I just stuck them on the wall! I love decorating for Christmas, but there’s something so special about adding subtle fall touches and warm accents throughout my home. The best part? You don’t need to spend a fortune. Today, I’m sharing easy ways to transition your home decor for fall using simple pieces you can find at your local store—or even better, items you probably already own.

This nursery was inspired by this whimsical canvas. I designed it to feel charming and timeless, with furniture that can grow with the child and a palette of neutral yet playful colors—making it easy to transition into a toddler room.

When I found this beautiful wallpaper, I felt inspired to create a bedroom mood board around it. The final result is a mix of old and new elements, with a warm and cozy vibe—English country style blended with traditional cottage influences.

These two projects came to life out of a need for specific furniture pieces, using what I already had on hand, and sticking to a budget. Both of these DIYs are built around a plain Ikea piece (the IKEA Havsta cabinet). Spoiler alert: they turned out even better than I expected.
