The calm before the storm—fall is my favorite season for home decor. I love decorating for Christmas, but there’s something so special about adding subtle fall touches and warm accents throughout my home. The best part? You don’t need to spend a fortune. Today, I’m sharing easy ways to transition your home decor for fall using simple pieces you can find at your local store—or even better, items you probably already own.

This nursery was inspired by this whimsical canvas. I designed it to feel charming and timeless, with furniture that can grow with the child and a palette of neutral yet playful colors—making it easy to transition into a toddler room.

When I found this beautiful wallpaper, I felt inspired to create a bedroom mood board around it. The final result is a mix of old and new elements, with a warm and cozy vibe—English country style blended with traditional cottage influences.

These two projects came to life out of a need for specific furniture pieces, using what I already had on hand, and sticking to a budget. Both of these DIYs are built around a plain Ikea piece (the IKEA Havsta cabinet). Spoiler alert: they turned out even better than I expected. And since so many of you loved them when I shared them on Instagram, I’m breaking down all the details in this post.

Welcome to the final part of our laundry space project! In our previous post, we shared the quick renovation we did when we first moved in back in 2020, along with the mistakes we made and noticed as we began using the space. Let’s go back to 2022. We had a room next to the front door that we wanted to turn into a guest bedroom with space-saving furniture, but since we barely have guests, it mostly sat empty (or filled with boxes). The plan was to make the most of the space—using it as a guest room only when needed—and finally create a proper home office with a desk and everything.
