4 ways to incorporate wallpaper in your home + 12 of my current favorite wallpapers.

Funny story, when we moved in to our new old home lots of walls were covered in wallpaper and after removing wallpaper for months, you would think that I would never add wallpaper? well that wasn’t the case. Once I started with our kids bathroom I never looked back. If I could I would wallpaper every room, there is just something about wallpaper, it makes a room come to life! it gives a space more depth and dimension plus it makes mixing patterns even more fun and you know I am a huge fan of patten on pattern! Wallpaper is an artistic way to add more pattern into a space, Its art for your walls.

  1. Wallpaper in bathrooms

One of my favorite ways to incorporate wallpaper is in spaces that are usually not the most expected like bathrooms. The only thing you need to consider is that the bathroom needs to have good ventilation usually guest bathrooms are ideal instead of full bathrooms.

I opted for a half wall in our kids bathroom phase 1 makeover, in the future I would love to add wall paneling in the bottom half. This wallpaper from Hygge & West adds the perfect dose of whimsical to our kids bathroom.

2. Make that pantry special!

Another unexpected space to add wallpaper and because of that it is my favorite! Nothing better than a pop of happy on the other side of the door, it sure puts a smile on my face and kind of inspires me to keep the pantry organize and pretty. Win win

You can watch the full pantry project from start to finish here. Did you know this space used to be a junk closet under the stairs? It was crazy!

3. Kids rooms

Kids rooms are so much fun to design! Those spaces are a great opportunity for a fun wallpaper and a good mix of pattern and color. I love our daughters bedroom so much! the unexpected mix of colors in her space is my favorite. That delicate patterned wallpaper with the wide headboard makes the perfect match.

4. Wallpaper and Board and batten.

Nothing new here but I had to mentioned it because it is a classic. Wallpaper and some type of wainscoting is always a good idea and It is also a great way to cut costs by not having to wallpaper the whole wall from floor to ceiling. If the wallpaper is going in a hight traffic area such as a laundry room or bathroom even better for durability, you don’t want your precious -and expensive- dream wallpaper to get damaged.

The next space that I have been considering on adding wallpaper for over 1 year now its our boys room.

Since I took this picture their room has changed quite a bit, we added crown molding and my husband trimmed the doorway with beautiful walnut. I think a striped light colored wallpaper could be beautiful in here since the room is fairly small, it will create the illusion of taller ceilings and add more depth in the space.

I love this wallpaper from Wallpaper direct so much. That might be the one.

Now, if I can dream I would get all of these wallpapers, I love the patterns and mix of colors. I hope these ones inspire you too.
